LET'S DO IT ROMANIA 2011

Ieri s-a scris un nou capitol din superba poveste începută anul trecut pe nume Let’s Do It Romania. Dacă în 2010 au fost peste 200 000 de voluntari, anul acesta am fost si mai multi.Cu siguranţă. Doar de la noi din liceu au fost peste 100 de elevi, dintre care circa 90 au fost în grupul meu. Anul acesta am colaborat cu rafinăria Petrotel-Lukoil si am făcut curăţenie în zona unde se află această mare companie, adică pe centura de Est a Ploieştiului. Faţă de anul trecut, când am mers la Româneşti, lucrurile au stat cu mult mai bine. Si ne-am mişcat atât de eficient şi am fost atât de mulţi încât am terminat cu mult mai devreme de cât preconizasem. Astfel că ne-a rămas timp să mai facem curăţenie chiar şi în curtea liceului., la întoarcere. A fost o zi frumoasă. Am văzut copii veseli, puşi pe treabă, arătând superb în costumaţia  Let’s Do It Romania cu care Lukoil s-a învrednicit să ne ajute. Am glumit, am râs, chiar am dansat şi am adunat gunoaie. Personal, mi-a făcut deosebită plăcere să muncesc cot la cot cu aceşti elevi minunaţi şi să-i văd şi în alte ipostaze decât cea de elev. Si ceea ce este cu adevărat admirabil este faptul că au făcut curăţenie pentru că îşi doresc, ca noi toţi, o Românie mai curată; şi văzându-i ieri la lucru mi-am dat seama că viitorul acestei ţări este unul frumos!

 Multumesc tuturor elevilor care s-au implicat în această campanie, multumesc celor care deşi nu au putut să vină cu noi, au fost cu gândul şi cu inima alături de colegii lor. Nu în ultimul rând, mulţumesc domnilor profesori însoţitori Iosif Maria, Ioniţă Mădălina şi Istudor Leontin. De asemenea felicitări şi colegelor mele, doamnele profesoare Chivu Paula şi Albu Adriana, care au acţionat cu un grup de circa 20 de elevi în altă zonă din jurul Ploieştiului.

Pe 24 septembrie, GSAS Victor Slăvescu a gândit şi a acţionat verde !

QOD: A rani demnitatea unui om este o crima (Antoine de Saint Exupery)

One of my students recently posted on my blog an incredible quote that I want to share with you!

How true this is, isn't it? Don't we all struggle to be appreciated?  And how easily we get angry when someone criticizes us! Therefore, when we criticize or scold somebody, don't you think we should choose our words better? Think about this next time you are ready to have an argument with somebody! Nobody likes to be contradicted bluntly! Why? Because everybody has an ego and we should be careful not to "tread" on this ego, otherwise we may turn a friend into an enemy. And I  guess no one wants to have enemies, right?

10 YEARS FROM 9/11

Exactly 10 years ago, the whole world was hopelessly watching how incredible acts of terrorism made the two twin towers of WORLD TRADE CENTER collapse killing thousands of innocent people(among them many  firefighters and police officers). There were two more hijacked planes, one hitting the Pentagon (the best defended building in the world - how was this possible??) and another one crashing in Pennsylvania, after an alleged fight of the passangers with the hijackers. We will never understand how this horrible crime was possible. There are many theories, oscillating between a terrorist attack orchestrated by Al Quaeda and the conspiracy theory according to which everything was organized with the accept and the support of the Bush administration. Although there was an official inquiry at the time, it did not bring much light on this tragedy. On the contrary, unanswered questions raised even more suspicion. We may never find out the truth about 9/11. But what remains is the incredible pictures and movies of the two planes hitting the buildings, of fire, of sirens, of people screaming and jumping off the windows to their death and the chaos that followed the collapse of the buildings. There remains the enormous, never-to-go-away pain of the families who lost somebody dear but also the beautiful memory of the ones who died.
Personally, I think it is the duty of every human being to get informed as much as possible about what happened (to the best of our knowledge) on 11 September 2011. Only this way, we will be able to cherish the memory of  the 3000 victims of this horrendous crime. 


May they rest in peace and may God watch over their families!

UN AN SCOLAR INCEPE MEREU CU CURATENIA DE TOAMNA!!! Veniti in echipa mea?

Salutare, salutare! Sper ca aţi avut o VACANTA "MARE"! Si cum toate lucrurile bune au un sfârşit, iata că începe iar scoala! :( Dar sa nu facem o tragedie din asta. Ne aşteaptă un an şcolar nou, cu multe lucruri minunate de învăţat şi experienţe de trăit! Eu unul de-abia aştept să-mi văd elevii si sa începem din nou călătoria prin ţinuturile superbe ale limbii engleze! Aşa că, la început de an şcolar, ţin să urez tuturor elevilor din GSAS dar si celorlalţi care poate vizitează acest blog să aveti parte de UN AN GROZAV, CU MULTA SANATATE, INTELEPCIUNE SI LUCRURI INTERESANTE !

Asadar, ce ziceti de o CURATENIE la inceput de an? Dupa succesul de anul trecut LET’S DO IT ROMANIA revine în forţă! Anul acesta şi-a propus să strângă 500 000 de voluntari! Fii unul dintre ei! In 2010 elevi si profesori de la GSAS s-au implicat si impreuna, am facut curatenie in padurea de la Romanesti. Pentru a va face o idee cum a fost, va invit sa vizualizati  postarea mea din 26 septembrie 2010. A fost superb sa vad ca sunt oameni carora le pasa !
Anul acesta incerc sa organizez lucrurile la nivel si mai inalt, adica sa adun in jurul acestui proiect cat mai multi voluntari. Intrebarea este : VEI FII UNUL DINTRE EI ? Poti sa sacrifici o zi pe an pentru a avea o Românie mai frumoasă ? Eu am certitudinea că da. Măcar atât lucru putem face pentru această ţară minunată!

Aştept ca la prima oră de curs din acest 2011- 2012 să-mi confirmaţi prezenţa la această campanie nobila, O.K ?
