Mark David Chapman explains motivation behind John Lennon murder

 Mark David Chapman, has said that he shot the musician because he wanted to "be somebody".


"I felt that by killing John Lennon I would become somebody and instead of that I became a murderer and murderers are not somebodies," he said.

Chapman also said that he had considered shooting Johnny Carson or Elizabeth Taylor instead.
